Hug Mug
Nicholas Baker, the designer, applied the traditional ceramic method of slab construction, where clay is rolled flat, cut into sections, and assembled much like constructing a gingerbread house. He chose to highlight this process in the mug's design by shaping a single clay sheet into a cup, with one end elegantly curling outward to form the handle. Through virtual reality exploration, the idea developed into a softer, spiral shape that evokes warmth and comfort, inspiring the fitting name: Hug Mug.
